Stock exhaust on the E46 m3. Sounds so raspy and tinny, like something is loose and rattling around.

I've seen dual cutout on a single exhaust,

Cutouts behind the muffler,

Sidepipes where guys cut the rockers off their car to make then fit

I can't find it now, but there's an MR2 turbo with a semi style flapper exhaust that is straight piped and exits right out the turbo through a cutout in the engine bay lid. Badass.

A dual-quad (yes, 8) ratty setup on a late 60's VW Beetle. I soooo wish I had a picture of it.

Lol and idiots still complain about the new M3/4 exhaust. They should all be forced to watch this video.

:-(

I like how my E46 M3 sounds. It is tinny but I think it's a lot better than the new car

You like it more? I always thought the stock E46 was too quiet...is yours totally stock?

He didn't have to cut a 10" hole in his bed just to do that. Besides its funnier when it shoots out the side.

Yeah it's totally stock. It is a bit quiet but not too bad. You don't even have to floor it to get some good sounds. If you just accelerate moderately hard that engine screams!

It's not a "beautiful" sound. More of an angry German N/A scream.

Well maybe not the goofiest but every time I get behind an NC Miata the dual exhaust tips bug me. It's an I-4 dammit! Two tips have got to be costlier than one, so I would be paying more money to get something that weighs more and is entirely useless.

A common track mod is switching to a 7 lb race single. Super loud, sounds terrible, but saves 19 lbs!

I've seen one of these with a 10" pipe exiting rear and center. Just like a butthole.

Just really sad I couldn't get a picture of it.

I've seen somebody attempt quad exhaust on a shitty old Nissan or something. Disconnected on one side, and connected to the car. It looked stupid as shit, since one side looked different than the other.

I keep watching it over and over

Now I can't sell the car. I need to make it sound like this

But that means I have to wait even longer to get the next car. No cashing equity out here

Aha, Thank you! That's the word I was trying to remember when searching for an example.

Have some ZZ pipes for your efforts.

Kinja'd!!!

During the 60's - 70's it was a thing here in the states to jack your car's rear end up too, but I had never seen that taken to this level before now.

I like how these mostly all started with a grain of truth: forward rake gives better grip, then some jackass decided to one up the next guy and went full retard.
